Koffie (pronounced Ko-fee) came to our school to teach us about African drumming.
'What is African Drumming?
An African drum is called a Djembe drum.
Some of us got to go up on stage but others didn't (which was about 90 percent of the school). The people that got to go on stage each got given a drum and had a go at drumming to the song.
We were taught a song by Koffie called MOBAKO NI WA FIE it goes like.
AWONYE DEDELE MOBAKO NI WA FIE
EEII MOBAKO NI WA FIE
MOBAKO NI WA FIE
(clap clap)
MOBAKO NI WA FIE
(clap clap)
MOBAKO NI WA FIE OOO
EEII MOBAKO NI WA FIE
(clap clap).
That was a West African song.
Video of us performing the song.
