Passion Projects
Passion Projects are things you do, that follow your passions so that you can earn badges. Passion Projects are tasks like make a machine that can crush a can, which I'm doing. My design looks like this.
Some other tasks are teaching a skill to another group of children, making an obstacle course, science experiments or creating a play.
This is my technology badge. I earned this badge by completing six Coding projects and one of my own.
If you do five tasks you get the bronze badge, ten is silver fifteen is gold. Three tasks in a curriculum area means you get that curriculum badge.

Production
Last week we had production it was called The Journey our country is Egypt. It had a really funny story line about some aliens that sneak down to Earth because they were curious but their mum wouldn't let them.
This is me and the rest of the mummies. I'm the mummy that's third from the left.
This is me before the production.
So you may be thinking what was it like to be on stage. Well for me it was really hard trying to keep a straight face for three whole minutes. I have been on stage six times and this is the first time that the seats were full! Here is the the video from Tuesday night of our class.
How many time have you been on stage?
Have you ever gotten stage fright?
Please comment your answers in the comments section.

Scratch Projects
Today I am going to be sharing with you three Scratch projects that I have created as part of our coding at school.
This Scratch project is called Battlegrounds. The aim of the game is to eliminate the other player. How you play: Player 1 uses the keys W, A and D and to attack they press Q.
Player 2 uses the arrow keys and to attack they press P.
Can you find the Easter egg?
This Scratch project is called Mouse Trap. The aim of the game is to not let the cat touch the mouse (you). How you play: Click the flag twice and use the mouse pad to keep the mouse away from the cat.
This project is called is Argi.io. The aim of the game is to touch the red dots. here are the controls arrow keys try touch the red dots to expand. How to play: Use the arrow keys to move the blue dot to eat the red dots. The more dots you eat the bigger you get. Watch out as the dots move.
What was your favourite game?

Camp Writing
Straight after the April holidays, Wednesday 2nd May to Friday 4th May, I went on camp to Spencer Park with the Year 5's from my class and Room 20. Some of the things we did were forest survivor, orienteering and went zip-lining. My highlight from camp was zip-lining. Here are my two pieces of writing about my time at camp. I hope you enjoy them.
I heard
People saying "turn back now" as I was going through the course
I heard
People screaming as they went down the zipline
I saw
Some people slip and fall on tricky stages
I felt
The roughness of the bark as I put my back up against a tree
I felt
Like I was going to throw up off the edge of the platform
I wondered
Why I had to wear the worst clothes for the situation
I wondered
Would I fall or would I win
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember when.... I slid down the bouncy pillow until I hit the ground and fell face first.
Remember when... I was hanging onto a single rope because I misplaced my clipper.
That was my 2018 camp to Spencer Park.
Remember when... I played spotlight and I wore all dark clothes so that nobody would identify me.
Remember when... I built a Teepee because it helps my chance of surviving from 50% to 99%.
Remember when... I dabbed as I came 2nd
Remember when... I chased some random chicken because it was fun
That was my 2018 camp to Spencer Park.

Maths - Multiplication Strategies
This term our class has been doing more Problem Solving. We were learning how to solve multiplication problems by using different strategies.
On Thursday we used an app on the iPad called Explain Everything. This app is an interactive whiteboard that allows us to collaborate, write, record and share our maths thinking.
My maths mate and I decided to share how we solved the following multiplication problem. We used the strategies of rounding and compensating and place value.
We hope you enjoy our maths tutorial.
Please comment below if you learnt something new from our video.

Chapter Chat - There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom
This term we have been part of Chapter Chat, a twitter based book chat. We have read a book called ‘There’s a Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom’ which is about a kid named Braddly. He's a big bully. He mets a kid named Jeff they became friends and the two walk into the girls' bathroom
Every Friday we went on Twitter with other schools in New Zealand that are also part of Chapter Chat. When we are on Twitter we answered questions in small groups about what we had read in the last week. Each week we also had to complete at least one quality Chapter Chat activity to share on Twitter.
This is one of my activities this is a bathroom, but its a girls one. This is what Bradley thinks the girls' bathroom looks like.
This is my second activity this is my game its very tricky. The layout is underneath. I made this with Josiah.

My Haiku Poem
In Jackson's Studio, as part of our poetry unit for writing we have been learning how to write a haiku poem. A haiku poem is a popular Japanese poem that traditionally has three lines of 5, 7 and 5 syllables.
We took our notebooks into the playground and brainstormed words associated with an object. I chose a basketball hoop because I love basketball.
Next we came inside and composed our haiku poem using a website.
Here is mine, I hope you enjoy it.
